About Dr. Thomas Tigges

Thomas Tigges, MD, is a board-certified surgeon and three-time “Top Doc,” according to Indianapolis Monthly Magazine. He has been a member of the Naab Road Surgical Group in Indianapolis since 1993.

Dr. Tigges grew up in Dubuque, Iowa, where his scholastic achievements qualified him as a State of Iowa Scholar. He continued his run of academic excellence at the University of Iowa, graduating with a degree in zoology with honors, then earning his medical degree in 1986. He continued his studies in Ann Arbor, Michigan, completing his general surgery residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

After two years at the Wichita Clinic in Wichita, Kansas, Dr. Tigges moved to Indiana to join Naab Road Surgical Group, specializing in the treatment of breast surgery. 

Dr. Tigges’ work with the Volunteer Clinical Faculty Services at the Indiana University School of Medicine earned him admission to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, as well as a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Abdominal Surgeons, the Midwest Surgical Society, and a number of other regional and local medical societies.

Dr. Tigges and his wife, Conna, enjoy spending time in the country with their six children.
