About Dr. Jonathan Saxe

Jonathan Saxe, MD, is a dedicated surgeon on the team of skilled providers at Naab Road Surgical Group in Indianapolis, with a special interest in hepatic, pancreatic surgery, and endocrine surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid. He’s a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery with a certificate of added qualification in surgical critical care, and he has more than 50 publications to his name.

Dr. Saxe graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, before going to Wayne State University in Detroit, where he earned his medical degree. He stayed at Wayne State University to complete a residency in general surgery and a fellowship in trauma surgery. Dr. Saxe also holds a master’s degree in religion from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Before joining the team at Naab Road Surgical Group, Dr. Saxe worked in Detroit, where he was the director of trauma and critical care at Detroit Medical Center’s Sinai-Grace Hospital and a professor of surgery at Wayne State University. 

Prior to his work in Detroit, Dr. Saxe served the community of Dayton, Ohio, at Wright State University, where he served as the director of surgical research, a professor of surgery, and the associate program director and interim director of the surgical critical care fellowship. During his time in Ohio, he also served as the chair of the American College of Surgeons’ Ohio Committee on Trauma.
