Dr. Mark Edwards grew up in Petersburg, Indiana, playing high school
basketball before leaving to attend David Lipscomb College in Nashville,
Tennessee. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology,
and was valedictorian of his class.
Dr. Edwards attended the Indiana University School of Medicine receiving
his medical degree in 1984. He then moved to Springfield, Illinois, for
his general surgery residency program at the Southern Illinois University
School of Medicine. During his residency, Dr. Edwards was selected to
the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
He joined Naab Road Surgical Group in July 1989, and since his
arrival has been selected four times by the Indianapolis Monthly
Magazine as a "Top Doc". Dr. Edwards is board certified
by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow in the American
College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Medical
Society, Midwest Surgical Society, Society of Laparoendoscopic
Surgeons, Indiana State Medical Association, and the Indianapolis
Medical Society.
Dr. Edwards and his wife Jane have two children. He enjoys golf and working on his yard.
